How Insulated Bags Are Built

An insulated bag is a three-layer system. The outer shell provides durability, print surface, and appearance. The insulation layer — typically closed-cell PE foam or EPE foam in thicknesses from 3mm to 10mm — provides thermal resistance. The inner liner, usually aluminium foil, PEVA, or food-grade PVC, reflects radiant heat and provides a wipeable, leak-resistant surface.

The specification of each layer determines real-world performance. A 3mm foam with foil liner will keep a packed lunch cool for two to three hours, which is adequate for an office commute. A 8–10mm foam with a heavy PEVA liner and a fully sealed, welded interior will hold ice for eight to twelve hours, which is what a beach cooler or a food delivery bag actually requires. We specify to your use case rather than selling a single generic build, and we will tell you plainly when a cheaper construction will not do the job you have described.

Outer shell materials include 600D polyester, non-woven polypropylene, PU-coated fabric, canvas, and RPET recycled polyester. Zips are chosen for reliability because they cycle constantly — a failed zip ends the useful life of the bag regardless of how good the insulation is.

Food Safety

For any bag with food contact we specify food-grade liners with the relevant material declarations available for Dubai Municipality inspection. PEVA liners are PVC-free and phthalate-free, which is the specification we recommend for children's lunch bags and for any client with internal chemical-safety requirements. Liners are heat-welded rather than stitched where leak resistance matters, and all interiors are wipe-clean.

Branding and Print

Screen printing produces bold, opaque logo work on polyester and non-woven shells in one to four colours. Heat transfer handles full-colour and photographic artwork. Embroidery gives a premium finish on canvas and heavier polyester shells and is the usual choice for executive gifting. Sublimation on white polyester allows all-over printing for retail merchandise and campaign designs. Woven labels, rubber patches, and metal badges are available for premium builds.

Print position matters on insulated bags because the foam layer creates a slightly cushioned surface. Our production team plans print placement on flat panels away from seams and zips so the logo sits square and reproduces cleanly rather than distorting across a curve.

RPET outer shells made from recycled plastic bottles are available across most of the range. Foldable constructions reduce shipping volume and therefore transport emissions on large orders.

Screen-printed stock constructions produce in seven to ten working days after artwork approval; fully custom-built bags with bespoke dimensions and liners require fourteen to twenty-one days.
