Desk sets are built on chrome, brushed steel, walnut, or marble bases with a polished finial and a spear or ball top. Floor flags use a weighted circular or square base of 6kg to 12kg with a two-piece chrome or brass-finished pole, sized so the flag hangs clear of the base without touching the carpet. Flags are hemmed on three sides, finished with a sewn sleeve or a lined header with rope and toggle, and where a flag must hang open in still indoor air we fit a discreet weighted bottom hem or a horizontal spreader arm.

Printing, Fabric and Colour

Fabric choice is driven by how the flag will be seen. Knitted polyester takes dye-sublimation and reads well under mixed lighting. Satin and silk-finish polyester suit ceremonial sets and photograph without harsh reflection. Heavier woven polyester is specified where a flag must hang with a formal drape. All national flags are produced to the official aspect ratio and colour references for the country concerned rather than to a generic template, and corporate flags are Pantone-matched to your brand manual.

Surface temperatures on an exposed forecourt regularly exceed sixty degrees, ultraviolet levels are high for most of the year, coastal humidity and salt attack metal fittings, and shamal winds carry abrasive sand that scours fabric and fades cheap inks in weeks. We specify accordingly: UV-stable sublimation inks rather than direct-print pigment, knitted and woven polyester rated for continuous outdoor exposure rather than indoor display fabric, UV-resistant stitching thread, and anodised, powder-coated, or stainless hardware rather than bare mild steel. We also give realistic service-life guidance instead of optimistic marketing claims, so you can plan replacement cycles and budget for them. Where a client needs maximum longevity we will recommend a heavier fabric and explain the trade-off in how the flag flies; where a client needs a flag for a single weekend we will not oversell a specification they do not need.

Care, Storage and Reuse

Conference Flags last considerably longer when they are looked after. Rinse dust off with fresh water before it grinds into the weave, wash at thirty degrees with a mild detergent and no bleach or fabric softener, and air-dry in shade rather than in direct sun or a tumble dryer. Store fabric rolled rather than folded where space allows, because permanent creases in a flag are visible in photographs even after it has been flown for hours. Inspect hems, grommets, and stitching at the end of each deployment and repair small failures immediately; a two-centimetre split at the fly edge becomes a shredded flag in a single windy afternoon. Hardware benefits from the same attention — check collar locks, base bolts, and swivel clips before each use, and rinse salt off any component that has been near the coast. We supply carry bags with most systems and can quote replacement fabric separately so you reuse the hardware you already own.
